RIM: Buat Apa Bangun Server BlackBerry di Indonesia?

info-teknologi-data-center

Prinsipal BlackBerry, Research in Motion (RIM), mengaku tetap berkomitmen melayani jutaan pelanggannya di Indonesia tanpa mau repot-repot berkomitmen membangun server. "Apa untungnya?" ucap petinggi RIM.

RIM: BlackBerry Server For What building in Indonesia?

Principal BlackBerry, Research in Motion (RIM), claimed to remain committed to serving millions of customers in Indonesia without bothering to commit to build a server. "What's the point?" RIM officials said.

Once again, Indonesia has made disappointed by RIM. Canadian vendors prefer Malaysia as factory BlackBerry, Singapore to network aggregator, and India for the placement of the server.

Inevitably, this condition makes the Indonesian government was furious. Therefore, Indonesia is one of the largest revenue contributor RIM – which is currently being dropped in the global market.

Have repeatedly, the government through the Ministry of Communications and the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency of Indonesia (BRTI) bill RIM's commitment to provide after-sales service, access to wiretapping (lawful interception), until the construction of a BlackBerry server in Indonesia.

Only, after several meetings, the entire request had not yet met the rim. Mainly a matter of tapping the said access has been coordinated with the party of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the server is still a matter of the tug.

Condition of the tug is made increasingly negative bias towards the rim. Therefore, Indonesia appears to be merely used as a place selling it without going to fulfill its commitments according to the rules, such as the Telecommunications Act No.36/1999, KM 21/2001 on telecommunications services, and the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (UU ITE) 11 / 2008.

"We understand this situation. We are committed to cooperating with the government here to serve our users," said Oliver Pilgerstorfer, head of PR East Asia RIM, on the sidelines of a media briefing Playbook 2.0, in Jakarta, Tuesday (02/21/2012).

When grilled about the RIM server development commitment in Indonesia, Oliver even asked.

"Actually, why should there be a BlackBerry server here? Can you explain, what exactly is expected? What advantage can be gained?"

"We're still trying to serve customers well without building a server here," said the man from London, England.
